We’re focusing on some final tune-ups as the 2018 Saskatchewan Music Conference (SMC) approaches. Benchmark Public Relations is the event organizer for the event, which runs Nov. 16-17 at the Saskatoon Inn.
SMC is the ultimate creative venue for developing musicians. It brings together talented music leaders, who deliver engaging sessions that allow participants to explore the depths of their creativity. This year’s conference is a partnership between the Saskatchewan Music Educators Association (a charitable, non-profit organization that promotes the development of high standards for music and music education in Saskatchewan) and Carl ORFF Canada – Saskatchewan Chapter (the Saskatchewan Orff Chapter, founded in 1989, is a branch of Carl Orff Canada. Every year, the SK Orff Chapter hosts workshops in Saskatoon and Regina).
Benchmark has helped organize the event since 2010. Some of our tasks include selecting a venue and coordinating event requirements with staff, maintaining the event website, attending regular meetings, creating the event scripts and speaking notes and securing sponsorship. This year we created a new app to make it easier for participants to find their way through the event.
Over the years, we have collaborated with music organizations such as the Saskatchewan Band Association, Saskatchewan Orchestral Association, Saskatchewan Music Festival Association and Saskatchewan Choral Federation.
